Memoirs of the Downtrodden

In a traditional and poised society a lack of compassion can be as vulgar as an excess of tears

Compassionate people do not just happen, they’re raised. Indifference and abhorrence is born out of one’s own inferiorities and inadequacies. But then even monsters are welcome in a world with no hope. And the righteous are stared upon with skepticism. The good, the bad, the ugly, no more are the categories of human behavior. The opportunist, the capitalist and politics are the key players in the game of thrones of power, fame and fortune.

There are ample souls in the current political and media outfit who have opened shops of propagating ill fated shows with the intention to sensationalize news and current affairs in order to run their own kitchen, working for organized establishments and power hungry individuals, serving distasteful plots and fictionalized facts to distract divide and control the viewing public.

Is there a clear difference between free speech and hate speech, between agenda and propaganda in the world of dramatized and capitalist media business? Media for all intensive purposes should be a medium of transmission for all proposed aspects of any agenda or is it a funnel through which a biased view of a larger canvas of schemes is presented.

As the tenacious few of this world have repeatedly pointed out that everything and everyone is for sale for the right price and by the right buyer as long as the transaction falls in the ever so wide matrix of business associations. Morality is a lost art, as you can justify pretty much anything if enough people agree with it. The blurred line between right and what one can get away with depends on the number of zeros you can add for the one. Your character can be seen as questionable if opportunity controls your loyalty.

Generations have been conditioned into reacting in a detestable manner to specific sects and countries and their countrymen. The unfortunate mindset of intolerance and aggressiveness reigns the youth of today.

If those in charge of our society; politicians, corporate executives, and owners of press and television, can dominate our ideas they will be secure in their power. They will not need soldiers patrolling the streets. We will control ourselves”- Howard Zinn

To question is not to oppose. To seek answers does not mean one does not believe. Transparency leads to accountability. Those in positions to serve the people should be answerable to each and every action and decision and activity which affects the public at large. Motives shall be questioned. Opinions shall be challenged, a dialogue is fundamental to a democratic model of governance.

The privileged spawns of most culprits are the ones preaching the righteous lessons. Pointing and speaking aloud about the wrongs invented and practiced by their own forefathers. The society has a clear divide of class and ancestral backgrounds. Apartheid by biasness and partial to their causes, the select fortunate with no real understandings of the common man become their champions vowing to bring order to the chaos created in the first place by them, the self imposed significant of the society.

Karma is not a punishing force. It is a balancing principle. It gives you the opportunity to correct the places you are out of alignment. The nature of life is not permanence but flux. There has been testing of the system since the dawn of rule and governance.

I feel a shaking of the ground I stand on. Sometimes hope acts like a tease designed to prevent us accepting reality. But in reality hope gives us motivation to persevere, to persist even though it may seem in vain. Sometimes it’s hard to see who people really are as they hide their true qualities under a thick blanket of convention. The monotony of being a conformist is not the way of the hopeful and the talented and ambitious.

Excerpts

The business of life is the acquisition of memories

What made you indignant when you last read the news paper?

I probably wouldn’t use it

Yes but they don’t know that you probably wouldn’t

They probably do

Yes they probably know that you probably wouldn’t but they can’t certainly know

They probably certainly know that I probably wouldn’t

Yes but even though they probably certainly know that you probably wouldn’t they don’t certainly know that although you probably wouldn’t there is no probability that you certainly would.

It’s clear that the committee has agreed that your new policies are really excellent plan but in view of some of the doubts being expressed. May I propose that I recall that after careful consideration the considered view of the committee was that while they considered that the proposal met with broad approval in principle, that some of the principles were sufficiently fundamental in principle and some of the considerations so complex and finely balanced in practice that in principle it was proposed that the sensible and prudent  practice would be to submit the proposal for more detailed consideration  therein stress on the essential continuity of the new proposal with existing principles and the principle of the principle arguments which the proposer proposes in prop ounce for their approval, in principle.

In addition, notwithstanding the fact that your proposal could conceivably encompass certain concomitant benefits of a marginal peripheral relevance, there is a countervailing consideration of infinitely superior magnitude involving your personal complicity in collaborative malfeasance, with a consequence that the tainting stigma of your former associations and diversions could irredeemably, irretrievably invalidate your position and culminate in public revelations and recriminations of a profoundly embarrassing and ultimately indefensible character.

Excerpts

The Bubble Generation

So much bloodshed so much death around us, yet we carry on living our lives day in day out as if the mayhem has nothing to do with us. We live in our bubble unaffected by the fires that has engulfed our nation and generation. The words on every lip is that we do as much as we can, as much as the mango people can spare in our tight schedule of running our kitchens, fulfilling the basic needs of our family. And no one can deny that sentiment. Sacrifice is just not our cup of tea.

All good things must come to an end, yet the bad stuff keeps multiplying, a pity. Each of us has plenty of questions plenty of criticism but no answers and no solutions. It’s a mathematical and logical fact that every problem has an equation through which a solution can be reached. So why don’t we look for the solution? Why don’t we develop the equation? We surely have the minds for it. Most of us are educated but not knowledgeable. Information is plenty but without wisdom. We don’t research we don’t experiment. We follow the white rabbit into a hole.

Our religion is all about asking questions yet we are told to believe whatever is taught to us. To ask a question doesn’t mean you don’t have faith, rather it means that we eagerly want to understand our faith. It is surprising of how many facts you uncover just by looking after one query.

For quite a while a question rose in my head that angels don’t have will, so how and why did Satan rose against God and rebelled. To what I found which was to my shame a common information that Satan is not an angel Its a Djinn (in Arabic) have all the attributes of humans a will, a colony, a society they evolve, some are good some are evil. They have all the mechanisms of a sapient life as we humans do. This again to my embarrassment is common knowledge which I had never pursued. And this completely changed my understanding of good and evil.

Evil is a living thing, has the ability to think and scheme, so Good needs to be on its toes as well. Ever thinking ever evolving yet we as a nation have succumbed to a state of stagnation. Our ability to concentrate on priorities which really matter has become corrupted. There are so many issues that can be resolved by simple practices yet it has become our way to complicate them further by running a rat race in which there is no winner. We lose in every scenario.

Political Talk Shows – the politics of these shows

‘You get what you deserve’. It’s an old saying. One that survived the years, because it’s true. For the most part. But not for everyone. Some get more than they deserve. Because they believe they aren’t like everyone else. That the rules, the ones people like me and you, the people that work and struggle to live our lives, just live, don’t apply to them. That they can do anything and live happily ever after, while the rest of us suffer.

They do this from the shadows. Shadows that we cast. With our indifference. With a pervasive lack of interest in anything that doesn’t directly affect us, we, in the here and now. Or maybe it’s just the shadow of weariness. Of how tired we are, struggling to claw our way back to a middle class that no longer exist, because of those who take more than they deserve.

And they keep taking, until all that’s left for the rest of us is a memory of how it used to be before the corporations and the bottom line decided we didn’t matter anymore. But we do. You and I, the people of this country we still matter. There are some in  the country that don’t share this belief. They have been among us for quite some time. You’ve heard their names. You’ve seen their faces. They have stayed in the shadows. Because men like them, men that want to control our cities, our lives, fear the light and what it reveals. These men must no longer be allowed to operate in the darkness. If they have nothing to hide, let them step forward.

No one should have to live in fear. In fear of mad men who have no regard for who they injure. In fear of the devils of our country were inflicted untold pain and suffering these masked terror mongers and psychopaths of their kind. We must show them, we will not bow down to their campaign of coercion and intimidation. There are those who want our country to stay exactly as it is, myriad in poverty and crime. We must stand up to them. We should stand together to fulfill the dream we have for our cities and country. The dream of a better place. A place for its citizens to feel safe, to progress, to evolve, to feel pride.

We cannot let these culprits keep living in the shadows afraid of the light. We need to be the rays of light that shines upon them and break this age of darkness. None of us should be forced live in darkness, we must do this together. We must resist those who would have us silenced and break our will. We must persevere.

Political Talk Shows – the politics of these shows

Twitter

I recently joined twitter. Its been a couple of months. Why I did that? I am still figuring that out but I have to admit there are days where I do enjoy myself commenting randomly on peoples tweets. Some end up in a lighthearted stream of statements and then some start a verbal war of opinionated remarks. Discussions turn into debates and debates end up in arguments. But all in all it has been an invigorating experience.

I not the most social person. I am that shy ,introvert snobbish kind who will only speak when spoken to. So for me to be vocal on twitter is a walk towards the road to perdition. But in spite of that awkward analogy I am glad I traveled and survived perdition.

The most interesting part on being twitter is my coming across so many individuals from the news media and journalism world whom i didn’t know existed. I am not fan of daytime TV or the million political talk shows that reign the prime time. So to discover the personalities that rule the air ways and the print media was a informative.

Then there are the celebrities whom I knew about. Although I’m not amongst those who constantly have the need to follow there every move and have to keep up to date off their life movements and activities. To like each picture they post of their outgoings and be aware of their right and wrong doings.
